Our Story: Bridging Knowledge and Impact The Foundational Journey

Our mission began with a common passion of deep learning and personal growth. After creating our non profit in 2009, we intentionally started "planting the seeds" for our future work—focusing on becoming a connected, educated, and a resilient non profit . Most of us having lived in the DC Metropolitan all of our lives or for decades, we feel called to create a sustainable model where evidence-based expertise could directly fuel transformation.

Two Entities, One Mission

In 2009, Dr. Rad and her team formally established Self Knowledge Base & Foundation (SKBF). A non profit organization registered in USA Virginia to make valid and researched information easily accessible to those who would benefit from it. To ensure the foundation's long-term sustainability, she and her team created Evidence-Based Consultation (EBC) LLC.

Our structure is unique: EBC LLC is the social enterprise engine owned by SKBF. When partners work with EBC LLC for professional consultation, they aren't just receiving expert guidance—they are directly funding the programs and community outreach of the Foundation.

While our volunteer community is vast and ever-changing, our mission is anchored by a dedicated core leadership team, including myself, Sarah, Erica and Shawn. Dr. Rad is the founder of EBC, LLC and a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Virginia with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field.

Dr. Rad specializes in Neuropsychology and is dedicated to providing evidence-based, trauma-informed care. Her approach is distinctly solution-focused, utilizing data and progress measures to ensure treatment plans are effective and directly address client needs. She is committed to helping clients who are dedicated to their mental health journey.

Expertise & Background: Her clinical experience spans various settings, including private practice and government contracting, with a broad skill set in psychological and neurological assessments. Her foundational work focused on treating children, adolescents, and adults dealing with ADHD, Depression, and Anxiety, which she has since expanded to include a wide range of mental health disorders.

Education & Community: Dr. Rad holds an APA-accredited Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from American School of Professional Psychology (Arlington, VA). She also received a Master's Degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Baltimore and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry from Warrensburg State University. Furthermore, she is the founder of the non-profit organization, Self Knowledge Base, dedicated to promoting public education on mental health, resiliency, and emotional intelligence.
